Weapons
The objects -- swords, sabres, projectiles and almost everything else -- that were used as weapons in DGSD.
Cui Baiquan's gold abacus (jin1 suan4 pan2 金算盘) - made entirely out of gold (Chapter 11).
Fringed staff of burnished copper (shou2 tong2 qi2 mei2 gun4 熟铜齐眉棍) - used by Fu Sigui (Chapter 5).
Gold abacus (jin1 suan4 pan2 金算盘) - used by Cui Baiquan (Chapter 9).
Iron pole with a thin, long and flexible cable attached to one end - used by Zhu Wanli (Chapter 5). The original pole was broken (Chapter 6) by Ye the Second, but a new one was soon made and used (Chapter 8).
Sabre of Antagonism, The (Xiu1 Luo2 Dao1 修罗刀) - used in a pair by Qin Hongmian, hence her nickname (Chapter 7). The blade of each sabre was as thin as a willow-leaf, and gave out a bluish glow (Chapter 8).
Ye the Second's Rectangular Sabre (fang1 dao1 方刀) - consisted of a short handle and a very wide but thin blade that was shaped like a rectangle; had an incomparably sharp edge on each of the four sides of the blade. Ye did not dare to let her sabre strike Gu Ducheng's heavy axes (Chapter 8).
Yue the Third's Crocodile-Jaw Scissors (e4 zui3 jian3 鳄嘴剪) - a strange-looking pair of scissors with short handles and an extended saw-like cutting edge; resembled the jaws of a crocodile. Sharp enough to cut through the fingers on Yun Zhonghe's steel claws (Chapter 5).
Yue the Third's Crocodile-Tail Whip (e4 wei3 bian1 鳄尾鞭) - a soft (flexible) whip with saw-like teeth along its length; resembled the tail of a crocodile (Chapter 5).
Yun Zhonghe's Steel Claws (gang1 zhua1 钢抓) - a pair of three-chi-long (99.99 centimetres) handles with a hand-shaped structure attached to one end; the fingers on each hand were extended like a claw. Each weapon was made entirely of high-grade steel, but the fingers on the claw could be cut by the Crocodile-Jaw Scissors. Two of the fingers on one of the claws were lost to the Scissors during the weapons' first appearance (Chapter 5). One of the claws was left behind when Yun escaped from a fight with the Sage of the Hollow Jade, Zhu Danchen and Mu Wanqing; Duan Yu tossed the dropped claw into the small lake beside the Taoist Temple of the Hollow Jade (Chapter 6).
Generic weapons:
- Arrows, feathered (yu3 jian4 羽箭) - used by the gang that was sent to capture Mu Wanqing (Chapter 4).
- Arrows, short (duan3 jian4 短箭) - a small weapon favoured by Mu Wanqing; coated with poison. First used to take down the enemies who had gone to her home; then used to kill Gan Guanghao and Ge Guangpei. Used to kill the emissaries of the Palace of the Gifted Vulture after catching them by surprise (Chapter 3). Hidden in and ejected from Mu's sleeves (Chapter 4). Would not cause much harm if they were not coated with poison (Chapter 7).
- Awl, steel (gang1 zhui1 钢锥) - a projectile used by a member of the gang that was sent to capture Mu Wanqing (Chapter 3).
- Axe, short (duan3 fu3 短斧) - used in a pair by Gu Ducheng (Chapter 5); made of steel (Chapter 9).
- Crutch, iron (tie3 guai3 zhang4 铁拐杖) - used by Old Woman Rui both as a means of support and a weapon (Chapter 3). Also used by the Stranger in Black, but in a pair because of the disability in both his legs; these were very small in diameter and about 7 to 8 chi (2.33 to 2.67 metres) in length (Chapter 7).
- Dagger (bi3 shou3 匕首) - used by Mu Wanqing to threaten Duan Yu (Chapter 3).
- Hooks, double (shuang1 gou1 双钩) - used by some of the emissaries from the Palace of the Gifted Vulture (Chapter 3).
- Horsehair whisk (fu2 chen2 拂尘) - basically a duster; favoured by Taoists and often used by them as weapons in wuxia stories. The Sage of the Hollow Jade used a horsehair whisk as a weapon against Yun Zhonghe (Chapter 6).
- Judges' brush (pan4 guan1 bi3 判官笔) - used in a pair by Zhu Danchen (Chapter 5) who nearly lost them to Yun Zhonghe (Chapter 6).
- Pole (gan1 bang4 杆棒) - used by a member of the gang that was sent to capture Mu Wanqing (Chapter 3).
- Ribbons (cai3 dai4 彩带) - used by Mu Wanqing to bind Duan Yu's hands and feet as she sought to take Duan Yu with her in her attempt to escape the captors that had come to her house (Chapter 3).

- Shovel, iron (tie3 chan3 铁铲) - long-handled instrument used by a male white-haired member of the gang that was sent to capture Mu Wanqing (Chapter 3).
