Ba Tianshi:

Duan Yanqing (a.k.a. Stranger in Black, and 'Lao Da' the First Evil):
- Techniques relating to the creation of speech through the stomach (a type of ventriloquism) (Chapter 7).
- A very rich and profound level of internal strength that enabled him to speak very clearly through his stomach. Could also send Mu Wanqing up on to a branch of a tall tree by pushing her with one of his crutches (Chapter 7).
- Acupoint-blocking techniques which were executed through his thin iron crutches (Chapter 7). Considered extremely brilliant by the Emperor Baoding; appeared to have its origins in the Single Finger of Positivity (Chapter 8).
- The Single Finger of Positivity (Chapter 8).
- The Keys to the Internal Strength Cultivation Techniques of the Duan Family (attributed, Chapter 10).
Duan Yu:
- Graceful Steps Upon the Waves (Chapter 5).
- Mystical Skill of Northern Darkness (begun in Chapter 5).
- True Energy of Northern Darkness (begun in Chapter 5).
- The equivalent of at least 20 years' worth of internal strength during his visit to the Temple of the Celestial Dragon (according to the estimate of the Emperor Baoding); later described as 'second to none' at that point in time. Further described as one whose internal strength was 'matched by only but a few' after the appearance of Jiumozhi (Chapter 10).
- The Keys to the Internal Strength Cultivation Techniques of the Duan Family (Chapter 10).

Duan Zhengchun:
- A very rich and profound level of internal strength that could be used to treat internal injuries, bringing colour back to the cheeks of the ashen-faced Gao Shengtai within moments (Chapter 6).
- The Single Finger of Positivity (Chapter 6), incorporating acupoint-blocking techniques (Chapter 7).
- The Palm of the Five Nets Upon the Wispy Smoke (Chapter 7).
- Swordplay techniques. Used the sword to push away Zhu Wanli's iron pole, tap Zhong Wanchou's large-ringed sabre and slice Zhong's fingers in a move that did not show any differences between one action and the next (Chapter 8).

Emperor Baoding, The (Duan Zhengming):
- The Single Finger of Positivity (Chapter 7, attributed). Had enough energy in his execution of the Single Finger of Positivity to bend the thin iron crutch that belonged to the Stranger in Black (Chapter 8).
- Releasing Acupoints Through Space (Chapter 7).
- The Guan Chong Sword of the Ring Finger, one of the Phenomenal Swords of the Six Channels (Chapter 10).
- The Keys to the Internal Strength Cultivation Techniques of the Duan Family (Chapter 10).
Gan Baobao:
- Qinggong (Chapter 2).
- Swordplay techniques (Chapter 2).
Gao Shengtai:
- A formidable level of internal strength that enabled him to blow a horizontal flute until the sound produced could cause pain in the ear-drums of listeners; could also send out a strong gust of wind through the hole at the end of the flute. In addition, could use his internal strength to heat the iron body of the flute up until it glowed red, as if it had just come out of an oven (Chapter 5).
- Miscellaneous moves: The Iron Bridge (Chapter 7).
Hua Hegen:
- The Tiger's Claw (Chapter 8).
- A technique that allowed him to concentrate his strength on his finger and use that finger to cut a square measuring 2 by 2 chi (66.67 by 66.67 centimetres) through the floor-boards in Zhong Wanchou's room (Chapter 8).
Jiumozhi:
- The Finger of Flower Offerings (Chapter 10).
- The Finger of Pattra Leaf (Chapter 10).
- The Finger of the Formless Raid (Chapter 10).
- The Sabre of the Glowing Flame (Chapter 10).
- A formidable level of internal strength. Demonstrated the extent of it by using the invisible Sabre of the Glowing Flame, made visible by the use of Tibetan incense (Chapter 10).
- A voice-based hypnotic skill that induced individuals with low internal strength to do his bidding; affected A'Bi and A'Zhu until Duan Yu plugged the girls' ears with the leaves of the zizania latifolia (Chapter 11).
Kurong:
- The Shao Shang Sword of the Thumb, one of the Phenomenal Swords of the Six Channels (Chapter 10).
- The Keys to the Internal Strength Cultivation Techniques of the Duan Family (attributed, Chapter 10).
- Meditations on Whithered-ness and Glory (Chapter 10).

Sikong Xuan

Xin Shuangqing:
- Skills of The Boundless Sword (attributed, Chapter 1).
Ye the Second:
- Internal strength techniques (attributed, Chapter 5). A type of negative Yin-based internal strength that was cold and sinister (Chapter 9).
- Sabre techniques that were strange and unfathomable (Chapter 8).
Yellow-Browed Monk:
- The Finger of Buddha's Warrior Attendant (Chapter 8).
- A type of positive Yang-based internal strength that was raw and powerful (Chapter 9).
- Miscellaneous moves: The Cloud-Blocking Hand (Chapter 9).
Yue the Third:
- A formidable level of internal strength that allowed him to roar until the cliffs around him seemed to rattle and shake; the roar itself was also sustained for a long time; could also carry a person (Mu Wanqing) down one cliff and up another, and travel in an ascending route around four hills without stopping for a rest (Chapter 4). Could exercise his internal strength and get up immediately despite being weak/limp a moment earlier due to the transference of his strength into Duan Yu's body via the Shan Zhong acupoint (Chapter 6). A type of positive Yang-based internal strength that was raw and powerful (Chapter 9).
- Palm techniques that allowed him to shatter a large rock with a single strike and send bits of rock flying in all directions (attributed, Chapter 4).
- Qinggong that enabled him to leap up the sheer slopes of a cliff as if he was walking on level ground, and to move more nimbly than an ape (attributed, Chapter 4).
- Techniques relating to the Crocodile-Jaw Scissors and the Crocodile-Tail Whip (Chapter 5).
- Miscellaneous moves: The Golden Chicken Stands on One Leg (Chapter 4), The Fall of a Thousand Jin (Chapter 5), The Carp Straightens (Chapter 6).
Yun Zhonghe:
- Very highly-skilled in qinggong (Chapter 4); could even avoid Mu Wanqing's poisoned arrow that was fired at close-range (Chapter 5). Slower than a horse during a short-distance sprint, but had more stamina during long-distance use of qinggong. Caught up with Duan Yu and Mu Wanqing barely seconds after Zhu Danchen did so on horseback although he (Yun) left on foot shortly before Zhu did; Zhu thought that he, Duan and Mu would not be able to outrun Yun even on horseback for the next 20 li (10 km) or so (Chapter 6).
- A significant level of internal strength (attributed), enough to create a loud 'clap' and stir up a cubic zhang (about 37 cubic metres) of dust when exercised through his palm to meet Yue the Third's on-coming strike. The impact of the two palms also pushed Yun and Yue more than two zhang (6.67 metres) away from each other (Chapter 5). A type of negative Yin-based internal strength that was cold and sinister (Chapter 9).
- Techniques relating to the steel claws, in which each finger on the claws had a particular purpose. When some of the fingers were cut off, the effectiveness of these techniques were reduced (Chapter 5).
- Able to suck his chest in by half a chi (16.67 centimetres) by taking a breath, to avoid being struck (Chapter 6).
Zhong Ling:
- Qinggong (attributed, Chapter 1).
- No internal strength of any significance (Chapter 9).
Zhong Wanchou:
- Qinggong (Chapter 2).
- A considerably high measure of internal strength (Chapter 7). A type of positive Yang-based internal strength that was raw and powerful (Chapter 9).
- Palm techniques (Chapter 7).
Zuo Zimu:
- Skills of The Boundless Sword (attributed, Chapter 1).
